Simple Tips on Breastfeeding Your Newborn Child
by BabyGanics™

Breastfeeding is the best way a mom can bond with her newborn child. It not only provides the baby with complete nutrition that no infant formula can give, it also sets into place the foundations of a lifelong relationship between a mother and a child. First time moms should familiarize themselves about the ways by which they can make breastfeeding the best moments of their babies’ young lives.

Tip # 1: Bond with your baby as soon as you give birth. Unless otherwise advised by your physician and so long as you have had a normal delivery, you must nurse your child immediately after childbirth. Place your baby on your abdomen and allow him to find your breast on his own. This will allow him to be emotionally attached to you at once.

Tip # 2: While still at the hospital, spend lots of time nursing your baby. Limit the time you allot attending to visitors.

Tip # 3: Try to get help from a health professional specializing on lactation to make sure that you are positioning your baby the right way and that he is latched on to you properly. If for example he’s latched on to you for hours already, he might not be getting enough milk.

Tip # 4: Make sure that you are comfortable and that you are providing enough and correct support for your back and arms as well as for your baby.

Tip # 5: Spend time with your baby and learn to adapt to his sleeping habits. It will not be long before the two of you find yourselves on the same rhythm. When he wakes up and stirs, for example, you will find yourself waking up too to breastfeed your child.

Tip # 6: Be prepared to nurse your child for as long as and as often as he wants. A newborn infant may feed to up to a dozen times in a single day. Each feeding lasts for about 10 minutes to more than half an hour. Remember to wake your baby up to feed him when he has slept for more than 3 hours already.

When it’s finally time to go home, make sure that your house is baby-friendly. For several weeks, you and your child will be spending some 90 percent of your time here so make sure to tell dad to use only safe and natural household cleaning solutions like those from BabyGanics. This will ensure that your house will be clean and at the same time will not be contaminated with toxic ingredients. It will be truly healthy for you and your baby!
