Moisturizing Baby Skin: How to Take Care of Your Baby’s Skin
by BabyGanics™

Keeping your baby’s skin healthy is very important to his or her well-being. An infant’s skin is thinner and more sensitive than an adult’s, and thus requires special care to remain healthy. It is less resistant to bacteria and other harmful substances in the environment, especially if it is irritated. Therefore, it is vital to keep your baby’s skin hydrated. If not regularly moisturized, the skin may become dry, which makes it more susceptible to breakdown, irritation, and possibly infection. During the cold, winter months your infant’s skin may become even more dry and chapped. Bathe your baby every other day during this season. Applying moisturizing creams and lotions is a good way to maintain your baby’s moist and healthy skin.

Apply your moisturizer immediately after bathing your baby, as this ensures that the moisture is sealed in just under the superficial layers of the skin. Always read the label on the bottle to ensure that the ingredients are safe for your baby’s skin. Natural moisturizing products such as shea butter, vitamin E, and aloe are recommended. Products like Babyganics Smoothe Moves contain these safe, plant-derived ingredients and provide deep, long lasting hydration. Try to avoid products that contain dangerous chemicals like sulfates, phthalates, and parabens. These chemicals are potentially carcinogenic and should not be used on your baby’s delicate skin. Use Babyganics products on your own skin if you want smooth and silky skin too!
